ABOUT THE POSITION
This Position as Lead Automation Engineer is a key position in managing our Standardized Process Modules for Robotics and Operator Controlled Processes for our entire product lines throughout EaglePicher Energetics, Thermal batteries, Silver Zinc Technology and Lithium Ion Products. The Lead Automation Engineer will help manage and direct an associated team of engineers with expertise in various fields of build, integration and validation of Automated Production Systems defined by the Technology Team in Manufacturing Engineering.
This position will work with other production team members in an assigned production area, with goals to meet production schedules in accordance within quality, cost, delivery, technical and safety standards. This position encompasses multiple different actual hands-on jobs, but these roles are all similar, and are all essential to the everyday operations of EaglePicher.
Technician role is to support the R&D group in all phases of battery development activities. This will encompass activities in several battery systems that include but are not limited to: cell and battery pack design concept, materials research and refinement, equipment research and refinement. Will be required to work with engineering tools such as measurement devices, microscopes, viscosity meters, and others as directed.

The primary purpose of this position is to upgrade the technical knowledge and background needed for the day to day rigors of preforming dynamic and electrical testing on various cell and battery systems in Research and Development. The successful applicant will be responsible for technical oversight of testing, standardization of tooling and testing processes, upgrade of testing equipment where necessary and practical, error proofing the lab process, trouble-shooting test anomalies, and overall lab flow.
This position will be responsible for equipment used to test battery cells and battery systems for Space, Aircraft, Medical, and R&D, and other testing at several facilities. The position will collaborate across all disciplines of the Integrated Product Team (IPT) to gain full understanding of product architecture and design.

You will be planning, organizing, and estimating efforts for System Integration & Test (SI&T) tasks, with the possibility of writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) of the overall work scope in support of Requests For Proposal (RFP).

EaglePicher is seeking a Design Engineer to join the Research and Development team. The Design Engineer will collaborate with the R&D and engineering teams to design, develop, and qualify cells according to customer specifications and documentation requirements in line with project timing and budgets. The Design Engineer will work closely with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering, teams to execute and deliver existing and new products. With EaglePicher Technologies, you will join our Research and Development team as a key team member in hands-on design, prototyping and commercialization of Lithium-Ion cells and battery power systems used for lasers, aircraft, satellites, and more. The successful applicant will be responsible for gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements and developing component and systems manufacturing methods. Fluency with SolidWorks is required. If you have hands-on experience with computer-aided battery design software, such as Battery Design Studio (BDS) or COMSOL, and are familiar with cell/battery design processes, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you’ll help us build functional battery systems and secure well-designed products that support a production environment.
The role will support R&D cell and process design and development functions for East Greenwich’s R&D facility for development efforts. This position will be responsible for the effective use of the design tools to design, document and maintain configuration control for early development of R&D cell and battery systems for Defense applications. The position will work within a multidisciplinary team of Scientists and Engineers and will adhere to company policies and procedures.

The primary purpose of this Engineering Research and Development Manager position is to take a hands on approach in the planning and execution of Electrical System development projects, including the development of system requirements, build processes, system design optimization, and verification and validation of design compliance. Product development activities also include the development of product requirements, preparation of supporting documents, tooling and product testing in a cross functional team environment.
