ABOUT THE POSITION

The Test Manager/Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and execution of activities associated with test lab operations, test engineering, and will be the managerial and technical leader for the test Lab. This position will oversee the operational planning and budget (CapEx), development and continuous improvement of test lab equipment, autonomous/preventive maintenance of equipment, inventory management, test lab operations and flow, and management of direct report staff.  

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of this position are:

  • Develop comprehensive test methods and documentation that allows safe, efficient, flow of testing. These will support a variety of manufacturing quantities including low rate to high rate production.
  • Support a balance of test system commonality and automation with low cost solutions and sustainable components.
  • Collaborate with a multiple functional groups including Operations, Engineering, Program Management, and Quality professionals to maintain product integrity through testing.
  • Document test configurations, assist with procedure reviews and train lab personnel in their use.
  • Develop test instructions, procedures, reports and oversee their execution.
  • Publish and maintain progress to schedules and manage effective KPI performance to drive continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Persons
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • Time in equivalent field as a lead, supervisor, or manager considered toward above qualification.
  • Ability and experience working in a collaborative cross-disciplinary environment.
  • Hands on experience with a variety of test equipment and systems used in testing desirable.
  • Experience with National Instruments and PLC’s a plus.
  • Experience with transition of products from development to full production valued.
  • Ability to work independently and report progress and critical project parameters to next level management.
