ABOUT THE POSITION

This position will work with other powder team members in an assigned production area, with goals to meet production schedules in accordance with quality, cost, delivery, technical and safety standards.   This position encompasses multiple different actual hands-on jobs, but these roles are all similar and are all essential to the everyday operations of EaglePicher.

Responsibilities

Technical Requirements:

  • Possess basic computer and math skills (ability to calculate percentages).
  • Capable of handling static, friction, and impact sensitive materials daily.
  • Ability to perform task-specific operations such as but not limited to:
    • Process materials in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and documents.
    • Conduct product testing utilizing specialized task specific equipment such as moisture analyzer.
    • Equipment set-up and programming for heated vacuum ovens, execute process procedures for all aspects of powder blending and weighing.
    • Operate specialized task specific equipment such as ball mills, V-blenders, magna stirrers, moisture analyzers, vacuum ovens, temp controllers, air stirrers, and hot water bath.
    • Perform product quality self-inspections,
    • Collect and organize process and product data from powder blends.
    • Maintain proper inventory levels through use of ERP work orders.
  • Strong sense of ownership of assigned area.

 

Technical Preferences:

  • Prior knowledge of explosives and explosive handling.
  • Knowledge of explosive blending techniques.
  • Experience as an automated systems operator and/or related position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to obtain a class C CDL with Haz-mat endorsement within the first year of hire.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
  • Knowledge of chemical processing.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Good dexterity of hands and hand eye coord
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to spend up to 10 hours per day in warm humid environments while wearing an aluminized jacket, hood and other PPE required for tasks.
  • Ability to work with extremely delicate and/or hazardous materials while following proper safety protocols.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass ATF background clearance (required for energetics devices and/or igniter manufacturing)
  • Ability to work overtime or alternate schedules as required.
  • Ability to travel between local facilities occasionally.
  • Read, write and speak English and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent record of attendance and reliability.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and records.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Other duties as assigned.
